OUR UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT Chanduy is located on the western coast of Ecuador, directly adjacent to the sea. This is an area renowned for producing world-class shrimp. Our ponds are constantly replenished with fresh tidal seawater. Fresh seawater contributes to a more natural habitat and results in our uniquely succulent and sweet flavor.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY PRACTICES Our farm comprises over 1,400 hectares. This allows us to raise our shrimp in low densities to avoid overcrowding and promote good health. We do not use antibiotics, growth hormones or mammal proteins during production. Our shrimp feed is a blend of natural ingredients.

FOOD SAFETY AND TRACEABILITY Our hatcheries produce their own postlarvae from the healthiest stock. It takes three to four months for individual shrimp to grow to market size. Each year, nearly eight million pounds of shrimp are harvested at Chanduy.
Once the shrimp are harvested they are carefully packed in ice-filled bins and brought to our processing plant. Throughout the entire process we control the temperature of the shrimp to ensure the freshest and safest product for you.
As with all of our products, being a vertically integrated organization allows us to have complete traceability every step of the way – from our hatchery to your grocer.
